A focus on education and youth to create positive impact.
Responsibility has always been at the heart of Prima Group. From tsunami rehabilitation projects in Sri Lanka, to supporting medical and scientific research in Singapore, we have a history of not just giving back, but creating lasting positive impact.
Our Founder’s deep belief in the power of education and young minds continues to guide the Group’s CSR focus. We are proud to have made pioneering and meaningful contributions to education and youth causes in not just Singapore, but in all the markets we operate in.
“Education is the foremost fundamental enabler. It is only with education and training that people can become self-reliant and utilise their skills and knowledge for the good of mankind.”
– Primus Cheng, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer
Singapore: A legacy of responsibility
Prima Group recognises its staff as an invaluable asset. It’s why the Group extends the strong bonds we have with our long-standing employees to their family members, so that they too can grow with us as one Prima family.
In 1986, the Group established the still ongoing Prima 25th Anniversary Scholarship Fund for our employees’ children residing in Singapore, Sri Lanka, and China.
The Prima Golden Anniversary Education Fund in 2011 gifted substantial sums to all four public universities in Singapore. Similarly, a Prima Scholarship was established to promote liberal arts educational opportunities at Yale-NUS, and the Group’s Founder has the distinct honour of three Professorial Chairs bearing his name.
In commemoration of Prima’s 60th Anniversary in 2021, Prima Group gifted S$6 million to support education and research in food sciences at NUS and SIT.
